The result is a starting extraction. Verify it against the pack before you plan your response.

Why shred a tender pack first?

A tender pack can run to dozens of pages across instructions, specification, terms and question sets. The requirements you must meet are scattered through them. Pulling them into one list before you write anything shows the real size of the job and stops a late surprise, such as a policy you do not have or a word limit you missed.

What the tool extracts

  • Questions and requirements. Lines such as ‘Question 3’, ‘3.1’, ‘Describe…’, ‘Provide evidence…’, ‘you must’ and ‘shall’.
  • Limits. Word counts, character counts and page or side limits attached to each question where they sit close to it.
  • Weightings and scales. Percentages, marks and scoring scales such as 0-5. Our tender scoring calculator shows what those weightings mean for your bid.
  • Evidence. Policies, accreditations, insurance and references, with a count of the policies you will need to have ready.
  • Dates and risks. Deadlines, clarification dates and prompts for your bid or no-bid decision.

How to get the best result

Paste text rather than screenshots, and paste the question set and the evaluation section together if you can. Tables copied from PDFs sometimes lose their structure, so check anything that looks short. Once you have your list, check each answer against its limit with the tender word counter, and see how to answer tender questions for the writing itself. Looking for something to bid on? Tender pack shredder FAQs

  • What does the tender pack shredder do?

It reads the invitation to tender text you paste and pulls out the parts you need to plan a response: the questions and requirements, word or page limits, weightings and scoring scales, the policies and certificates asked for, key dates and a few bid/no-bid risk flags. You can copy the result as a checklist or download it as a CSV.

  • Is my tender text uploaded or stored anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser using fixed pattern-matching rules. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved and no AI model is called. When you close or refresh the page, the text is gone.

  • How accurate is the extraction?

It is a starting extraction, not a substitute for reading the pack. Rules based on patterns such as 'Question 3', 'maximum 500 words' or '20%' find most items but can miss unusual layouts, tables and text inside images, and can over-match. Check every question, limit and date against the original documents before you rely on them.

  • Can I upload a PDF or Word file?

Not in this tool. Copy the text from your PDF or Word document and paste it in. Scanned PDFs need to be run through text recognition first, because the tool only reads text. Pasting section by section, such as the question set on its own, often gives cleaner results than pasting a whole pack.

  • Which policies and certificates does it look for?

It checks for common requirements including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001, Cyber Essentials, modern slavery, GDPR and data protection, health and safety, safeguarding, business continuity, a carbon reduction plan, equality and diversity, anti-bribery, insurance, TUPE, social value, and references or case studies. The checklist counts how many policies the pack appears to ask for.

  • What do the risk flags mean?

They are prompts for your bid/no-bid decision, not advice. The tool flags pass/fail gates, exclusion grounds, TUPE, parent company guarantees, liquidated damages, high insurance levels and short deadlines when the wording appears in the text. A flag means read that section closely. No flag does not mean no risk.
